UMC Utrecht uitklapper, klik om te openen

University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU). The UMCU is a leading international academic medical center where knowledge of health, illness and care is generated, evaluated, shared and applied for the benefit of patients and society. The clinical demand of the patient - present and future - is the focal point of the ambition of the UMCU.One of the major goals of the UMCU is to translate results from laboratory research into new therapies for disease. Scientists pursuing basic research questions closely collaborate with clinicians involved in patient care, allowing the UMCU to remain at the forefront of new developments and to provide better care. A multidisciplinary approach guarantees patients’ benefit from the latest available expertise and innovative technological solutions. Interaction with patients and society creates an ‘innovation loop’ where societal issues guide scientific research and scientific results quickly move from bench to bedside and back.

SERMAS Hospital La Paz (IdiPAZ). The IdiPAZ Institute for Health Research was created as a place for biomedical research, as a result of the relationship that has been forged over the years between La Paz University Hospital (HULP) and the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). This strategic alliance has enabled multidisciplinary teams belonging to the above institutions to be set up in order to take on joint research projects, making the most of the human and material research resources at their disposal and promoting fund raising for research. IdiPAZ manages all of the resources for research, development and innovation at the centre in order to contribute to the promotion and protection of the health of the population.

Nanodialysis uitklapper, klik om te openen

Nanodialysis is a medical device company that specializes in blood purification. Main activity is the development and commercialization of a wearable/portable artificial kidney. Core technology for purification is the use of sorbents based on nanomaterials and the use of electro-oxidation. Nanomaterials are crucial as these materials provide both the necessary sorption capacity (high specific surface area) and selectivity (nanostructured pore size, surface chemical tuning). The concept of selective adsorption has been translated to a sorption filter unit used in a miniaturized, portable/portable dialysis machine. Nanodialysis has broad knowledge of methods for the removal of toxins, design and development of wearable/portable dialysis equipment and knowledge of market volume and mechanisms for kidney and CHF patients.
